Graduation ceremony: SMIEC students proudly display their “diploma” with their teacher Sr. Randa (2nd row, right)

Realizing the paramount importance of children’s education, SMIEC established the Weekend Academy a few months after its incorporation in the State of Kansas in May 2010. The Academy successfully provided religious education to children from October 2010 to July 2013 at the Matt Ross Community Center, Overland Park, Kansas, under the guidance of dedicated and qualified teachers.

We are delighted to announce the relaunch of our Sunday Academy at our own Masjid Maryam for Summer 2023. This enriching program aims to nurture the minds and hearts of our young learners. Classes will be held every Sunday from June 11th to August 27th, from 11 am to 1:30 pm, concluding before Dhuhur Prayer.

We invite parents to enroll their children in our program, providing them with the opportunity to grow spiritually, develop moral values, and strengthen their connection with the Muslim community. Our thoughtfully designed curriculum covers various aspects of Islamic studies, including Quran recitation, pillars of Islam, the lives of the Prophets (peace be upon them), and Islamic etiquette and values. Through interactive activities, discussions, and hands-on learning, we create an engaging environment where children actively deepen their knowledge of Islam.

To secure your child’s spot in this transformative program, register for the Sunday Academy today by completing the survey below. Spaces are limited, so act promptly!
