Realizing that children education is of paramount importance, SMIEC, within a few months of its incorporation in the State of Kansas in May, 2010, started the Weekend Academy to impart religious education to children. Classes were held in rented rooms at the Matt Ross Community Center, Overland Park, Kansas and were taught by qualified and dedicated teachers. The Academy (currently suspended) ran successfully from October 2010 to July 2013. Plan to resume the Academy is one of SMIEC’s top priorities and as soon as a suitable arrangements get in place instructions would commence.
